Second Meeting

What do you do?

In short, we allow sellers to pay buyers to speak with them.

Longer explanation: People who visit this landing page and enter their email addresses will become Buyers. Buyers will enter the times of the week (e.g. every other Wednesday from 5PM to 6PM ET) when they are available. Separately, we also recruit Sellers. Sellers will also enter the times of the week when they are available. In addition, Sellers will filter through profiles of registered Buyers, and pick specific Buyers they want to pay money to speak with. If at some time (e.g. 3:30PM ET), a Seller picked a Buyer and both the Buyer and Seller are currently available (as per their selections), then the Seller and Buyer will receive a phone call bridging them. The Seller will pay an amount based on the length of that call. The Buyer will receive a payment based on the length of the call. For example, the Seller might pay $11 to speak with a Buyer for 4 minutes, and that Buyer might receive $8 for the conversation.

What is your industry?

Software and InfoTech

Describe the target audience for your landing page

The target audience is an INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY employee of a company who either makes purchasing decisions or contributes to making purchasing decisions. The more critical the person is to making these purchasing decisions and the larger the purchasing decisions, the greater the extent to which they are in the target audience. An example of someone in the target market is a Data Center Manager who purchases servers for his company’s data center. Members of the target audience will become Buyers in the Second Meeting system.

What 3 things would you like to communicate to your audience through your landing page?

The purpose of this page will be to maximize the percent of visitors who watch the video that will be shown on the page and maximize the percent of visitors who submit their email address.

(1)

The page will have the following text (without quotation marks): "Listen to pitches relevant to you. Get $120 an hour whenever you want."

I expect you to be creative in how you display this text in order to make it compelling.

(2)

Somewhere, it should say “89 spots left.” That number will be editable.

The page will have a text box where the visitor enters their email address. To submit the email address, the visitor will click a button that says “Go”.

(3)

The page should convey that the service is in beta.

How is your company different from your competitors?

There are a lot of ways to get information on products and innovations that might be relevant to your business. There are blogs, google, conferences, etc. Only Second Meeting pays you to get that information.

What landing page design styles do you like?

I don’t have a precise style in mind, but I like the designs shown here: http://inspirationfeed.com/inspiration/websites...

Specifically, the ones I like the best are: 2, 4, 5, 7, 11, 14, and 15. I like that they are instantly engaging visually and have a clear, quick message. I also like that they are not visually cluttered.

The Second Meeting logo is attached. I have provided a simple .jpg and also a number of other logo files. Use only the logo versions that match the .jpg file.

What colors do you want to see in your landing page?

The landing page should mesh with the logo, which is attached. That is the only requirement. There are a few logo variations in the attachment. Use the one that matches the one currently at www.secondmeeting.com.

What colors do you NOT want to see in your landing page?

See the above comment.

What adjectives should best describe your landing page?

coolest, mind-blowing, sleek, business-oriented-yet-fun, elegant, simple-to-use.

Some more words about the brand:

This is the coolest thing the visitor has found on the web this month. After experiencing the page and viewing the video , the visitor should be thinking, “That just blew my mind. I can get paid to chat with sales people and learn new things – on my schedule? I’ve got to try this out.” The page should reflect that coolness. It should be sleek and elegant. It must also be appropriate for its business person audience.

What content must be included in the landing page?

(1) video explaining the content, (2) field where users can enter their email address

Do you have additional info or links you'd like to share?

Here is a draft of the script for the one-minute explainer video that will appear on the page:

How many people will pay you at a hundred and twenty dollars an hour to hear their pitch? Find out with Second Meeting. And get pitched by innovators. By experts. By people who claim they can solve your problems – and who put their money where their mouth is.

Here is how it works. You say when you are available. Then you are picked by people who want your attention. When you are available, you get a call bridging you with them. When each call ends, an amount of money is added to your account equal to one twenty multiplied by the call’s length. To withdraw money, you press “Pay Me” and we send you a check immediately. No minimums. No fees.

And your email and phone number will never be shared, even with people you speak to.

Brief updates

16-Oct-12 3:08 p.m. GMT
Make it simple.
17-Oct-12 11:56 a.m. GMT
I would like to make a change to the Target Audience and to the Content included on the page:

Under Target Audience, replace "The target audience is an INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY employee of a company" with "The target audience is an employee of a trade, professional, or non-profit association."

Under Content, I would like to acknowledge on the page very simply, that the page targets the employees of associations. This can be done in 1-3 words. For instance "Associations," "For Associations," and "Association Personnel" could work. You may wish to place these words with the rest of the text on the screen or somewhere else, such as below the logo. This is a design choice you should make.

Do not use a screenshot of the video currently at secondmeeting.com in your design.

Instead of asking for the "email" we need to ask for the visitor's "work email."
