Creative brief

The buyer added updates to the brief. Read them.

Business Name

Sponsor Energy Inc.

What do you do?

We are an energy company that donates 50% of our profits on every kilowatt of power or unit of gas used by any residential, commercial or industrial customer to a charity chosen by the customer. We allow home and business owners to use their power for good!

How many pages of illustration do you need?

a single illustration to be used 2 different ways (slightly different text on each one) for website button and window sticker

What do you need illustrated?

We would like a Superhero character with our logo on the crest for use on its own and as part of 2 buttons. We would like this character incorporated into a graphic for both our Community Partners and Community Sponsors (same illustration and background but slightly different wording on each). Feel free to use either the hero in the existing example, or a superhero kid or perhaps a more symbolic superhero (like example attached) with orange cape. We want it to look simple, professional, not too tacky or cartoony. Something cool that a professional corporation would be comfortable displaying on their own websites or offices (as a Community Sponsor) or a large non-profit organization would be proud to display on their website or send out via electronic newsletter.

Does your illustration need to be a particular size?

Not really, we want maximum flexibility to use for website buttons & window stickers or perhaps posters - suggestions welcome

What is your industry?

Other

Describe the target audience for your illustration

Energy consumers (electricity and natural gas) of all sizes including residential homes, small businesses, large corporations or industrial sites.

What 3 things would you like to communicate to your audience through your illustration?

empowerment /power
doing good
social enterprise

What lillustration styles do you like?

simple, powerful, clean, easy to "get", recognizable quickly

What colors do you want to see in your illustration?

orange (same color as our logo at www.sponsorenergy.com)

What colors do you NOT want to see in your illustration?

pink, purple, pastel

What adjectives should best describe your illustration?

different, eye catching, powerful, good, saving the world, helping/protecting/saving others

Where will you use the illustration (print, website, etc.)?

websites (as buttons/banners), window decals/stickers, as a graphic pasted into an email communication, perhaps as part of a brochure and other print material

Do you have additional info or links you'd like to share?

We are really looking for a "character" - a superhero that will utilmately be used on all of our corporate materials....someone who is recognizable as the "Sponsor Energy Hero". We would like to have all of the elements seperately (the character on its own, character as part of Community Partner graphic, as part of the Community Sponsor Graphic). In the future, we may want to engage the successful bidder to create this same character in other illustrations or marketing materials.

Just a note on the attachments - these are ones I just did up in PowerPoint as examples. We would like the graphics to incorporate the text from these examples (Community Partner and Community Sponsor), but we need it in editable format as we have 50 Community Partners and will ultimately be customizing for each charity specifically).

Here is a list of our Community Partners: http://www.sponsorenergy.com/community-partners

Our partners range from Food Banks to Homeless Shelters, to animal rescue organizations to health and addictions-based charities.

Great entries so far! I really like the concept of a "non-traditional" hero....maybe a younger kid or even a female? The idea is that anyone can "use their power for good". The more unique the better!

I have attached a poster that we have used which features a younger kid as a superhero....we really liked the look and feel of his expression, pose, etc. Powerful and empowering.

Extending by a few days..although some great talent here, we have not quite found what we want yet. We are hoping for something simpler rather than something with lots of detail as the ultimate use would be in a (maybe 300x300 web button) or window decal and we would have to add text to it as well. There are some gorgeous entries of realistic looking traditional superheros, but not quite the direction i think we are after...but also don't want anything to "cutesy" or cartoony or too goofy or too aggressive. We may be looking for more of a "corporate" feel. Maybe a silouette of a superhero? Or even just the torso of a superhero? Just a thought...Thanks for all the entries! You are all talented and amazing!
