Blackfish, a nationally known consulting firm, seeks creative input on a new name for a compelling cause that serves people with infectious diseases. Our client is a 20-year old, nationally recognized community health clinic specializing in HIV testing, medical treatment, case management, counseling, advocacy, and family/partner support services. Our client serves men, women and children infected with HIV including providing prescriptions, housing subsidies, transportation, food, and community prevention education. Their current name includes words that are too generic causing clients to have a hard time finding the organization. Additionally, other entities have adopted the same name - - causing further confusion. The new name should reflect the dignity of the clients, the hope the programs offer, and the solutions the services provide. The winning namer will enjoy broad visibility and association with an innovative, well-managed, credible not for profit organization as well as the knowledge that they have contributed positively to building a community's social capital.

Many creatives are submitting the words HIV, AIDS, DIE, DEATH, DIGNITY and COMPASSION in their submissions. Our team views HIV in the name as very limiting considering that the client is moving in to treating many types of infectious diseases. Submitting names with the words DIE or DYING is probably not a good idea. Also - using words like compassion and dignity literally in the name begins to sound like a nursing home or hospice. Please be creative in the truest sense. Creatives that can submit names that are unique, and not literal and that might appeal to young people and convey a sense of confidence in choosing our client for health care options will do well.
