Creative brief

What does your company do?

We are a brick and mortar retailer operating in Fort Lauderdale, FL. The store is a general gift and novelty store specializing in merchandise that is edgy, and sexy. The novelties and T-shirts we sell may have explicit word or sayings on them, it is definitely a store for mature audiences but not an X rated store. If we were a men's magazine you could say we are Maxim not Hustler.

Do you require that a .COM or other URL be available for the new name?

Would be good but not a requirement.

What is your industry?

Retailing

Describe your customers

Under 40 men and woman, higher income, liberal philosophically.

What 3 things do you want your company name to communicate to your customers?

We want to be fun, sexy, hip but we don't want potential customers or city officials or mall owners to think we are an X rated porn shop or anything like it.

List the names of your top three competitors

Spencer Gifts
Hot Topic
Both these stores carry a lot of the same products, but we also carry condoms, lubricants, lingerie and some "personal massagers"

What character, tenor, or spirit do you wish to convey?

Same as above, fun, sexy, hip

Are there any words or phrases you especially like or hate?

We thought of just renaming the store Fun & Sexy, but again the "Sexy" word may make some mall owners nervous.

Do you have other info you want to share?

We realize we can't be all things to all people but we hope to find a middle ground where we convey the nature of the store to our customers while at the same time have a name that won't raise the eyebrows of mall owners or city officials who could withhold our business permits. So far we have received very positive feedback on the logo which a play off the NBA logo.
