Creative brief

What does your company do?

When institutions (corporations, smaller companies, state governments, universities, nonprofits, etc) have a problem or see a need they engage us to help develop business solutions for those problems. Once an institution approaches us about a problem to solve we pull together people we know who are experts in given areas to help us solve the problem. These "experts" could be former CEOs, CMOs, designers, developers, marketing people, teachers, architects, etc. Once we have a good business idea we will create a new company to bring the idea to life. We're in essence "fusing" problems with solutions.

Ideas:
1. We like the use words like, "idea", "solution" or "solve" in the name because it's all about creating new ideas or solutions to problems.
2. We like the use of words such as "fusion" because we're fusing ideas/solutions to problems.
3. Even though it seems to be a bit overused now, we like the use of words such as "labs" because we're creating new things (companies) out of ideas.
4. We like words like "forge" because we're building new companies
5. We like words like "ignition", "launch" or "ignite" because we're starting new companies
6. We like words like "accelerate" or "accelerator" because we're helping to take ideas and accelerate them to market (it's overused now also but describes what we do well)

All that said, don't let those words limit your thoughts...please suggest names based on those words but also names based on other words you come up with. We lean more to using descriptive names (those that describe what we do...similar to "YouTube") but are also open to names that don't mean anything related to this space (similar to the way Amazon branded themselves).

Do you require that a .COM or other URL be available for the new name?

.com required. .Net may be ok if the name is strong enough but will have to be an incredible name if the .com is not an option. Don't have a lot of money so can't afford to buy the .com for a lot of money.

Also need to have the ability to trademark.

What is your industry?

Consulting and Professional Services

Describe your customers

The "customers" that bring us problems to solve will be institutions (corporations, smaller companies, state governments, universities, nonprofits, etc) and also individuals that have a problem in mind or potentially an idea for a new product/service but need help getting it off the ground. The name certainly needs to resonate with them but also needs to resonate with the individuals we will pull in to help us develop the business ideas (former CEOs, CMOs, designers, developers, marketing people, teachers, architects, etc.)

What 3 things do you want your company name to communicate to your customers?

1. We can help solve their problems
2. We will launch new companies to solve their problems along with them
3. It's a partnership...not a normal consulting company...meaning:
- "We're in this together" ... but our company will do the heavy lifting to get the idea created, business plan built, the new product/service company off the ground and get revenue coming in the door
- "you don't have to pay us a typical "consulting fee" like you would a normal consulting company

List the names of your top three competitors

Not sure there really are direct competitors but consulting companies that help other companies develop business solutions (such as Ideo) could be comparable. Or startup incubators (techstars, Y-combinator, etc) could also be doing similar work but in a different way.

What character, tenor, or spirit do you wish to convey?

- Business-like but fun
- Exciting
- Dynamic...that's part of the reason we like words like fusion, launch, ignite, etc. They represent something taking off
- Something you want to be a part of

Are there any words or phrases you especially like or hate?

Do you have other info you want to share?

It's very important that we can get the trademark for the name.
