What does your company do?

This is a group of citizens who have come together to raise money to pay for test fees for high school kids who want to take IB and AP exams, but cannot afford to do so. The school department cut payment for these fees from its budget in 2008. The group is basically a non-profit organization that raises money and gives it to kids who are academically motivated and in need of financial support.

The mascot for the school is the Eagle as in Clarke County Eagles. The Athletic parent support group is called the Eagle Athletic Association. The newsletter for the school is called The Talon. School colors are orange and navy blue. We live in a small county in the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia. We are not Northern Virginia where 95% of the kids go to college -- in fact many kids in high school are the first generation headed to college. We are a bit of a throw-back, rural community -- predominantly caucasian and christian

Brief updates

Imagine that you are the executive director of this organization and you are introducing yourself and the organization for someone new. So it goes like this, "Hi, my name is Tracy and I work for (put name here). We provide scholarship money to kids who want to take IB and AP exams at Clarke County High School."

The name has to be catchy, easy to recall/remember and crazy creative.

So, I am finding that there are two groups of entries:
1. very simple expressions that are catchy and easy to say and may require explanation, but have the potential to create a brand identity -- for example, apple.
When you hear apple, some people think of fruit, but many think of a computer.

2. a phrase that explains and connects to the mission -- almost self explanatory. For example, Microsoft, Food Lion, Valley Cleaning Service, Radio Shack.

I want something that sticks with people regardless of which category it falls into.

Thanks for all the submissions so far -- I think we're making progress. And, we spent 9500.00 dollars this year on test fees for kids who needed it.
