Creative brief

The buyer added updates to the brief. Read them.

What does your company do?

The company aims to help people working in project mode and/or in groups to collaborate and interact more efficiently. The tool which we plan to develop falls in the category of "social project/task management" tools. It will help project managers and/or small enterprise leaders to easily and rapidly see what's going on on their project/enterprise and to ensure their team works on the right priorities. It will also enable the team members to rapidly create, update and share the tasks they are working on.

Do you require that a .COM or other URL be available for the new name?

I will require .com and .fr also has the company will be first deployed in France

What is your industry?

Software and InfoTech

Describe your customers

The tool will be used by people having to work and collaborate in project mode and/or in groups. So our customers include both the team members and their manager. It includes designers, developers, consultants, accountants, associations for the small/medium size companies. But (potentially at a later stage ) the tool aims to be used by project managers and team members working for major companies also such as projects relating to major systems implementation (e.g. salesforce, SAP, Workday, etc...).

What 3 things do you want your company name to communicate to your customers?

The tool is USEFUL as opposed to a waste of time. People uses it because it really helps them in their daily work. It does the work efficiently.
The tool is RAPID in the sense that creating a new task is extremely fast (few clicks only to create a new tasks, minimum information to enter, quickly accessible)
The tool is CLEAR. It is pleasant, appealing, user friendly

List the names of your top three competitors

Basecamp.com
Asana.com
Producteev.com

What character, tenor, or spirit do you wish to convey?

CLEAR + VISIBILITY + USER FRIENDLY + INNOVATIVE + CHALLENGE + COLLABORATIVE + PLEASANT + MODERN + ZEN + EFFICIENT + GET THINGS DONE + REACH YOUR GOAL + FLEXIBLE + APPEALING + DESIGN + INTERNATIONAL + FUTURE OF WORK + OPEN MINDED

Are there any words or phrases you especially like or hate?

I'm not fan of business words such as "tasks", "projects", "priorities". They sound stressful where my tool aims to provide clarity, visibility, organization.
I like complex terms explained in simple words such as "Basecamp" for example. See my explanation as to why below.

Do you have other info you want to share?

1st info: The company will be french and plans to deploy on the french market first and after internationally.
2nd info: I like the name "Basecamp.com". I'm fan of mountain trekking so "basecamp" sounds great to me and it totally relates to project management. It sounds like having a rest at the basecamp to plan the next steps and climbs the next objectives. The name is clear, does not contain boring words such as project and task but at the same time it relates to the notion of challenge you've got to handle in a project. The two other names of 37signals are also interesting "Highrise" and "Sitecamp"
- I like also the name "Liligo.com". This is a French website used to compare the prices of flights, hotels... Liligo is the name of a glacier in the Himalayas. It sounds pleasant and nice and I also like the fact that it has the name of a glacier. It might just lack a bit of "challenge" connotation.

Thank you all for your contribution,

I have enjoyed some of your proposition. To give you an example, I like "peakblu". The "peak" provides the "challenge", "high overview" spirit and the "blu" provides a bit of "zen" and "user friendliness". It does not still sound totally right but I would appreciate if you could continue in this direction. Please keep in mind that I also like Liligo.com. It is short. There is a sense of movement with the "go". It sounds user friendly.
However I would also appreciate if you could also look in this other direction that just came up to my mind. I thought using a person short name could be great also such as "TED" for example. A slogan can sounds like this "You want to delegate something, give it to TED". Obviously TED is already used in many different circumstances so another short, friendly name would be good.

Thanks everyone for your help. I'm looking forward for your other propositions.

Hi all,

First of all. Thanks a lot for your propositions. Many are inspiring.
Following my review of all your names here are some more indications. The name has to be easy to pronounce and to say. My tool will be an assistant available on the right of the user's desktop. The objective is to really quickly create a new task just by doing a drag & drop of a document for example in my tool and that's it the task is created by default. the tool will be used on a daily basis and will become a refernce for the team. using it is quick and easy. I really want a name really easy to pronounce and to use so that people at work can easily say "give it to TED", "put it in ...", "have you had a look in ...". Climbing techniques or climbing tools can work also. Finding a short name meaning "delegate it", "do it", "give it" could also work.

I hope it helps.
Thanks

Hi all,

Just a quick note to let everyone know that it is not OK for a buyer to post or ask a creative to reference a unique concept or element that has been introduced by another Creative. Our Standards of Conduct specifically states "You should never accept instructions from a buyer if those instructions ask you to violate this code of conduct or another person's intellectual property rights (such as a request that you copy the elements of a design or written work submitted by another creative)." We work hard to keep this community as a level playing field and we should all play within the rules to maintain this.

In the meantime, we have removed the buyer's comments which refer to specific work submitted. Thanks so much for your participation and hard work!
