Creative brief

What does your company do?

We are a new company getting ready to launch ourselves in the UK. We are a sweet shop brand that is initially going to be focused on building an online presence in the mrketplace, expanding into the retail space over the next few years.

We are like a traditional sweet shop in the sense that we sell all different kinds of sweets, both from within the UK and overseas (e.g. american sweets). We also have a strong focus on selling traditional pick and mix sweets.

Our unique selling point is that we focus on the brand of the sweets, rather than the actual sweets themselves. We promote sweets through their brand and offer gifts, toys and extras all related to the sweet brand.

Do you require that a .COM or other URL be available for the new name?

We require that both a .com and .co.uk domain be available for the company name. We also require that the domain names have no hyphens, underscores or other non-alphanumeric characters. For example:
www.thesweetshop.com is acceptable, but www.the-sweet-shop.com is not.

What is your industry?

Food and Beverage

Describe your customers

Tweens through to teenagers
Adults looking for gifts or wanting to reminisce about the retro sweets they used to eat

What 3 things do you want your company name to communicate to your customers?

Ye Olde Sweet Shop (there's not just one - there are hundresd!)

What character, tenor, or spirit do you wish to convey?

We do not want a name that is dead serious, but equally we do not want a name that is fully humerus. We would like to aim somewhere in the middle, slightly leaning towards the humerus angle.

Are there any words or phrases you especially like or hate?

We dislike the idea of "ye olde sweet shop" and we dislike the idea of being "retro"

Do you have other info you want to share?

No, not at the moment

As an additional note to the project brief we would prefer that you do not suggest names using the word "candy". It's important to remember that this is for a UK company where we do not refer to sweets as candy, rather as "sweets" or "chocolate" depending on the type.

Whilst we will not outright reject names containing the word candy (because there may be instances where it works well), but our preference is for it not to be used.
