Haiku Learning
Haiku Learning is a software company. We provide a virtual classroom (or Learning Management System) to K-12 schools around the world.
Schools like our software because it is easy to use, and doesn't contain lot's of useless extra functions.
We'll need this to print on all major T-shirt sizes for both men and women (S, M, L, XL).
U.S. K-12 Education
Educators (teachers and administrators) in K-12 institutions.
Harmony, Simplicity, and Community are our 3 core values.
Think about the japanese concept of "zen." We really prize simplicity... without being simplistic.
We'll be printing the design on high quality organic T-shirts. It would be pretty cool if the design would also apply to lightweight/cotton polos similar to this (http://www.jcrew.com/mens_category/polostees/sh...).
In terms of the style: we could see this going a number of different directions. Ideally, we want a "new" take on our brand. Something that says "Haiku" in a new and interesting way.
One concept would be a large 1 or 2 color illustration that's a take on a bonsai tree, zen garden, or other symbol that you feel could represent Haiku in a novel way. http://www.slowshirts.com/product/7238-treehous...
Another concept (for any poets out there) would be a clever Haiku poem on the front. Maybe a riddle with the answer on the back?
If you use the Haiku logo, I recommend placing it on the back.
Up to you. We're doing small batch screen printing.
Our core colors are Orange/Black, but we're open to anything. Much like Google offers T-shirts in many colors, we could see this working.
We're really open to anything here. But, because it will need to work for a all of our staff, I think the actual color of the shirt should be fairly standard (gray, black, blue, white).
Creative, but simple. Slightly youthful... slightly playful.
We're primarily going to use these for our Haiku Staff. Staff will where them at education events, speaking engagements, conventions, and so forth. If they are _really_ good, we might give them away to schools, teachers, etc.
We want some sort of strong connection to our brand, but it need not be our logo.
